GDC Drass inaugurates two-week bridge course under PM USHA Gender Equity Scheme


Kargil, April 15 (Scoop News)- Government Degree College, Drass today inaugurated a two-week bridge course under PM USHA Gender Equity Scheme, an initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and promoting gender equity in education.

The inaugural session witnessed the registration and participation of around 50 students who have appeared for recently concluded 12th exam or already passed the 12th class examination.

The event was graced by Councillor, LAHDC Bhimbat, Abdul Wahid and Principal Higher Secondary School, Drass, Sapoora, as chief guests. Both dignitaries applauded the college’s efforts and emphasized the importance of such programs in building a progressive and equitable educational environment.

Shujat Ali Mir, the PM USHA college coordinator, provided a detailed overview of the course framework, outlining its key objectives and expected learning outcomes for the participants.

Incharge Principal, Mohd Hassan, delivered an inspiring address, encouraging students to make full use of the opportunity. He spoke about the long-term benefits of such bridge courses in enhancing academic preparedness and shaping future career paths.

Abdul Wahid, in his remarks, commended the college’s initiative and urged students to actively participate and benefit from the program. He also appreciated the college’s upcoming infrastructure developments and expressed optimism about continued student-centric initiatives.

Sapoora, Principal Higher Secondary School, Drass, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of gender equity and encouraging students to understand and embrace the values such programs promote.

The session concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, with students expressing their excitement and commitment toward the program.

Dr. Imtiyaz Ali presented the formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guests, media partners, and Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi for their unwavering support in organizing such meaningful and impactful programs for the students' benefit.
