| Police organized awareness programme on new criminal laws and anti-drug campaign in Anantnag | |
Srinagar, April 15 (Scoop News)- Police in Anantnag organized a comprehensive awareness programme at District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag, focusing on the newly introduced criminal laws and ongoing efforts under the anti-drug campaign.
The event was presided over by SSP Anantnag, Shri Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, and saw the active participation of SP Hqrs Anantnag Shri Sajad Ahmad, DySP DAR Shri Aijaz Ahmad, In-charge Drug De-addiction Centre Anantnag Dr. Mudasir Aziz, and other senior officers. Students from various educational institutions across the district also took part in the programme.
The aim of the initiative was to educate youth and the general public about the key changes in criminal laws, their implications, and the urgent need to fight drug abuse at both individual and community levels. Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized the pivotal role of awareness and community cooperation in building a safe and drug-free society.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where students and participants shared their views and raised queries, which were addressed by the panel of officers and experts.
Police reiterated its commitment to public welfare through sustained awareness and preventive measures, and encouraged citizens to come forward in the fight against drug abuse and contribute positively towards law enforcement initiatives.
