| JKAACL, CUJ organise Vibrant Punjabi–Dogri Cultural & Music Programme | | Jammu, April 10 (Scoop News)-The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), in collaboration with Central University of Jammu (CUJ), organised a Punjabi–Dogri Cultural-cum-Music Programme today in the Brigadier Rajinder Singh, MVC Auditorium of the Varsity.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from eminent local artists and cultural troupes from district Samba, presenting a rich tapestry of Punjabi and Dogri folk traditions. The audience was enthralled by vibrant performances, including soulful folk songs and the energetic Punjabi Gidda.
Renowned local groups-Rattan Lal and Party, Sudesh Kumari and Party and Bodh Raj and Party created a captivating folk ambience through their diverse and traditional musical presentations, reflecting the region’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Editor Punjabi Sheeraza Popinder Singh Paras highlighted the initiatives undertaken by JKAACL to promote and preserve Punjabi and Dogri folk culture, especially in far-flung areas of the Jammu region. He also outlined the Academy’s upcoming programmes aimed at further strengthening cultural outreach.
Dean Students Welfare Prof. Ritu Bakshi appreciated the Academy’s dedicated efforts in preserving and promoting local folk traditions and literature. She described such initiatives as vital steps towards safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Faculty members Dr. Neeta Rani and Dr. Aman also appreciated the Academy for organizing such cultural programmes.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sat Slarvi.
Students, faculty besides a large number of music lovers witnessed the programme.
