Jammu, May 07 (Scoop News)-Senior PDP leader and former minister Syed Basharat Bukhari has raised important concerns over the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly regarding displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Bukhari criticized the government for treating displaced Kashmiri Pandits at par with the general population during NFSA enrolment. He emphasized that the assistance being provided to migrant families is not a privilege, but a humanitarian support mechanism necessitated by their displacement and prolonged suffering.
He stated that until the dignified rehabilitation and safe return of Kashmiri Pandits is fully achieved, their special status and support system should continue. His remarks have once again brought focus on the sensitive issues of displacement, rehabilitation, and welfare policies in Jammu and Kashmir.
