| DC, SP Drass interact with Pensioners and Senior Citizen | | Drass, May 09(Scoop News)-All Pensioners & Senior Citizens Welfare Association of Drass organized a programme today to welcome Drass District’s newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS) and Superintendent of Police Ishtiyaq Ahmad Kacho (JKPS) at Dak Bungalow Drass.
The dignitaries were received with a khataqs ceremony amid enthusiasm and participation from pensioners and senior citizens.
The President of the association Nissar Hussain welcomed the dignitaries and participants. He expressed happiness over the announcement of Drass as a new District on 28 April this year and highlighted the need for improvement in the health and education sectors on a priority basis.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the people on the creation of the new District and appreciated the efforts of the senior citizens and the people of Drass for their warm welcome and enthusiasm. He stressed on the importance of maintaining cleanliness in markets, rivers and all parts of the newly formed District. He stated that village tours and Khidmat-e-Awaam programmes would continue in the future as before. He also assured the public that all genuine issues would be addressed on priority at his level. Further, he sought cooperation of all residents of Drass for the sustainable and holistic development of the District.
In his address, the Superintendent of Police thanked the association for organizing the grand reception. He assured the public of doorstep service delivery in matters related to law and order, issuance of character certificates and other public services.
He further assured strict action against social evils such as drug abuse and cyber frauds and informed that awareness programmes regarding cyber fraud prevention would soon be launched across the District.
In the end, Haji Niyaz concluded the programme with a vote of thanks. Later, the Superintendent of Police separately interacted with police pensioners and listened to their issues and suggestions.
