| DC Kargil Reviews Activities Under MY Bharat Initiative, Calls for Greater Youth Participation | |
Kargil, July 15 (Scoop News)-The Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar chaired a review meeting regarding the implementation and promotion of the MY Bharat initiative in the district.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Lead District Manager (LDM), Assistant Director Information, representatives of the Culture Academy, Department of Social Welfare (DSW), and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, officials informed that MY Bharat is an autonomous body dedicated to empowering and engaging youth through various developmental, educational, and nation-building programmes.
They highlighted that over 3.5 lakh youth have participated in different initiatives across the country, while more than 2.2 crore youth have registered on the MY Bharat platform. Officials further shared that participation includes both rural and urban youth, reflecting the programme's wide outreach.
The meeting was informed that MY Bharat regularly organises activities such as World Environment Day, World Bicycle Day, plantation drives, sanitation campaigns, workshops, leadership and decision-making camps, skill development programmes, quizzes for students, and other initiatives aimed at promoting civic responsibility, environmental awareness, and youth engagement. These programmes are conducted at the district, state, and national levels to encourage active participation in nation-building.
Emphasising the need to increase youth participation in Kargil, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to intensify awareness efforts regarding the various opportunities available under the MY Bharat initiative. He suggested that MY Bharat officials visit the Government Degree College and other educational institutions to sensitise students and encourage them to actively participate in the programmes.
The Deputy Commissioner further advised the concerned officials to coordinate with the Principal of Government Degree College, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools, and other educational institutions to facilitate greater outreach among students and youth. He stressed that coordinated efforts would help more young people benefit from skill development, leadership, volunteerism, and other initiatives offered under the programme.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the effective implementation and wider promotion of MY Bharat activities across the district. ... |
