| CGPWA distributes Tiranga among pensioners for Tiranga Mahotsav | | 
Jammu, August 10 (Scoop News)-At a meeting of the Central Govt Pensioners’ Association, Jammu (CGPWA) held here today under the chairmanship of its President, Kuldeep Khoda, Tiranga were distributed among the members for hoisting at their respective houses as part of Tiranga Mahotsav-26.
Khoda appealed to all Central Govt Pensioners to hoist the National flag at their houses to celebrate Tiranga Mahotsav in commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram. The CGPWA will celebrate the 80th Independence Day at the Wazarat road office premises on 15th August with traditional fervor and gaiety.
It was decided that as part of Har Ghar Tiranga, the CGPWA, Jammu is organising a Tiranga-themed Rangoli competition at the Samaj Kalyan Kendra-run School for the Hearing Handicapped on 14th August. The CGPWA will explore possibilities of organising an inter-school musical competition on Vande Mataram next week.
The meeting reviewed the problems relating to CGHS Wellness Centres in Jammu and noted that with the addition of post-Oct2019 UT Pensioners in CGHS, the OPD in WCs have become overcrowded affecting the services to earlier members. The meeting welcomed the initiative of the UT Govt in earmarking suitable spaces in GMCs and District Hospitals for establishment of new CGHS Wellness Centres and urged the Chief Secretary Atak Dulloo and Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education to impress upon the Union Health Ministry to sanction CGHS Wellness Centres for these ten new sites which strengthen the CGHS infrastructure in J&K to relief of CGHS beneficiaries belong to central govt pensioners. The General Secretary of CGPWA K B Jandial have already flagged this issue at 35th SCOVA meeting held at Delhi on 10th March 2026 under the chairmanship of MoS Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare & PMO Dr Jatinder Singh and requested the CGHS to open these Wellness Centres.
