ADDC Leh Flags Off Month-Long Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Campaign


Leh, August 10 (Scoop News)-Rigzin Spalgon (JKAS), Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Leh, today flagged off the month-long Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign at the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Leh. Organised by the District Social & Tribal Welfare Office, Leh, the campaign will be observed from August 10 to September 10, 2026, with the aim of creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

Following the flag-off, an awareness rally was organised from the Deputy Commissioner's Office through the Main Market and concluded at the District Industries Centre (DIC), Leh. The rally witnessed participation from officers, officials, stakeholders, school students, and members of the public. The District Police Leh also organised a motorcycle rally led by Shri Rishabh Shukla, IPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Leh, along with other police officers, to spread the campaign's message.

An orientation session was later held at the DIC Conference Hall, Leh. Addressing the participants, Shri Rigzin Spalgon (JKAS) called for collective efforts by all stakeholders to eliminate substance abuse and actively engage the youth in building a drug-free society.

District Social & Tribal Welfare Officer, Leh, Shri Mohd Saffdar Bhat (JKAS), briefed the participants on the objectives of the campaign and the District Action Plan, highlighting the importance of coordinated awareness activities and inter-departmental collaboration for the successful implementation of the month-long initiative.
