| Chhatroo/Gurinal Case Transferred to Crime Branch | |
Srinagar, August 29 (Scoop News)- The Chhatroo/Gurinal case has been transferred to the Crime Branch, following efforts by former minister and senior political leader G.M. Saroori, who had sought a specialised and impartial investigation into the matter.
Saroori had recently met the affected family and heard their concerns and grievances regarding the case. Subsequently, he spoke to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the phone, apprising him of the matter and requesting that the case be transferred to the Crime Branch.
The case has now been formally transferred to the Crime Branch, with SSP Sanjay Kumar Parihar and DySP Javed Iqbal Chowdhary set to head the investigation.
Welcoming the development, Saroori expressed his gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha for personally assuring him and facilitating the transfer of the case.
“I am highly thankful to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha Ji for personally assuring and facilitating the transfer of the Chhatroo/Gurinal case to the Crime Branch,” Saroori said.
Saroori expressed hope that the Crime Branch would conduct a transparent, impartial and comprehensive investigation, establish the facts and ensure justice for the affected family.
