Srinagar, October 31 (Scoop News)- In a significant step towards preventing the misuse of SIM cards and enhancing public safety, Police in Shopian conducted a comprehensive inspection of SIM card vendors across the district. The initiative aimed at ensuring strict compliance with the prescribed guidelines governing the sale and activation of SIM cards and strengthening efforts to prevent their unauthorized use.
The inspection focused on verifying compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, checking proper documentation and preventing the unauthorized issuance of SIM cards. The vendors were also sensitized about the need to adhere to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
