Self rule nor autonomy can resolve Kashmir issue:Vakil

Anantnag/Srinagar,April 15 (Scoop News) - Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said that neither a confused self rule proposal of the People’s Democratic Party nor autonomy can resolve Kashmir issue. They have to understand that Kashmir issue can only be resolved when all the parties including separatists will sit together taking into consideration the aspirations of all the three regions then only a genuine solution will come out by consensus. Resolution of Kashmir issue is enshrined in collective wisdom of the parties concerned, a criterion which the self-rule or autonomy proposal does not fulfill. “In view of the fact that individualistic yearnings have destroyed nations while collective wisdom has nourished them”. ''No single party is in a position to resolve the issues at an individual level. If any party tries to make the people believe this, it is only be-fooling them,'' he added. Vakil was addressing a public meeting at Utrusoo Shangus in District Anantnag.

Vakil said Congress will not allow anybody to use Kashmir issue to change the fortunes or misfortunes of political exploiters. “Kashmir issue cannot be treated as commodity on which dirty politics can be played,” said Vakil.
Vakil called upon political parties and other groups to sincerely strive for addressing the issues and be part of a joint strategy in this regard. He hailed UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for their historic steps and policies to ensure peace and development in the state. Their pro-friendly decisions have further catapulted their image in the state.

Vakil highlighted the role of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and said that she always remained back at call of the State whether it was the turmoil, earthquake, snow storm or any natural calamity. He said people of Jammu and Kashmir have full faith in the leadership of Nehru family and our accession with India is symbolized by Nehru family.

Vakil slammed opposition PDP for shedding crocodile tears on corruption issue and said, “Instead of shedding crocodile tears on corruption issue PDP should look how many of its ministers were involved in corruption when they were in power and their cases are still pending in SAC.” Vakil said they do it for petty political gains, unmindful of their own deeds. He said "It is sad that instead of rising above politics and working together for peace and stability of the state, opposition is busy in doing politics for their petty political gains. He alleged that PDP is raising corruption on the basis of its liking and disliking where it suits them they raise hue and cry where it does not suit them they remain mum and unmindful. This is unfortunate Vakil added.

Mr. Vakil said corruption is a big issue and its eradication will ensure that state will begin working towards being self reliant. Corruption, he said as recently found by a survey have distanced youth from the mainstream and only 30% of the youth is lured by the sentimental issues. He urged Chief Minister punish corrupt as Congress is firmly behind the Chief Minister. He said it would be the biggest achievement of present Government headed by Omar Abdullah. He said if Government take this issue seriously and take those elements to task and dealt them with iron hand whosoever will be involved in corruption this Government will strengthen its position among people “added Vakil”.

Besides others addressed who addressed the gathering include General Secretary J&K PCC Dr. Abdul Ahad Yatoo he stressed upon the Chief Minister to take unemployment problem seriously and fulfill his commitment of absorbing 50000 unemployed youth in different Government departments. Senior Congress leader Khalid Muzzaffar Dar also addressed the gathering.
