PDP being a power hungry party :Vakil

Jammu, April 28 (Scoop News) – Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today stressed upon the coalition government to focus its attention more on developmental issues and grievances of the people rather to pay more attention on political issues. The people have given mandate to the coalition government to solve their problems like electricity, drinking water supply and employment but it is unfortunate that government is busy more with political maneuvering rather than development works which are going at snails pace thereby creating wedge between the government and the people, Vakil added. He stressed upon the Chief Minister to give priority to development sector which seems to be overshadowed by political issues. Vakil was addressing a party workers meeting at Gandhi Nagar Jammu which was presided over by Senior Congress leader and Former M.P. Janak Raj Gupta.
While addressing the workers Vakil came down heavily on People’s Democratic Party (PDP) accusing it of destabilizing successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir State merely to grab power. He said PDP leadership had always played a spoil sport in the state politics and destabilized various governments and finally they didn’t even spare Ghulam Nabi Azad in recent years that had adversely affected the political atmosphere of the state.
Vakil alleged that PDP being a power hungry party never wants to see democratically elected representatives to perform in the state and it was because of this political maneuverings that people were the worst sufferers. He said that PDP was still putting in its efforts to create an uncertainty which are aimed at destabilizing coalition, merely to grab power. The Congress however is aware of despicable designs of PDP and would never allow such designs to succeed in the larger interest of masses. Sensing a bleak future for itself PDP leadership, Vakil said was making desperate attempts to gain a foothold but since the party stands exposed, frustration of PDP was becoming visible with each passing day. PDP had always ditched its partners merely to stay in power and now there are no takers of PDP’s moves which it is trying to establish in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir, he added. Vakil asserted that had PDP not withdrawn its support from Ghulam Nabi Azad government political situation in state would have been altogether different.
Vakil stressed upon party leaders of both Congress and NC to work in tandem, strengthen bonds of coalition and help the government to fulfill its commitments made to the people and he emphasized that those who are involved in mud slinging are not friends of coalition but are playing in the hands of enemy and are serving his (enemies) interest. Vakil said if this mud slinging is not stopped the clever enemy will definitely take benefit out of it and will succeed in his mission of creating uncertainty in the state which would harm the interest of the coalition government.
Addressing the gathering Sr. Congress leader and Former M.P. Janak Raj Gupta stressed upon workers to get united and defeat those forces who are bent upon weakening coalition government for grabbing power.
Others who addressed the gathering include Balwinder Singh Sambyal Chief J&K Sevadal, Jugal Kishore Sharma Vice President INTUC, Smt. Namrata Sharma Ex. Corporator, Smt. Lalita Sharma Ex.Corporator, Keerat Singh District General Secretary and many others.
