NPP demands judicial probe into the deaths of infants
calls for criminal prosecution of Govt

Jammu, May 22 (Scoop News) –Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, NPP and Member, National Integration Council urged Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India for his urgent intervention to save the lives of the newly-born children who are dying in G.B. Pant Hospital, Srinagar for want of infrastructure, adequate staff, sanitary wards, medicines and care. NPP Chief while rejecting an eyewash inquiry committee headed by a government servant as an attempt to divert the attention of the people, he demanded a high power judicial committee to probe into the death of 895 children in 2011 and that of 400 children in 2012 because of the criminal negligence of the government and the Health Department.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad made a political statement calling the tragic death as matter of shame least realizing that both the Health Ministers in J&K belonged to his party and the Chief Minister stands on the leaning crutches of the Congress in J&K. If 62 crores of rupees earmarked for children hospital in Kashmir have not been utilized as Azad lamented, then the Congress is equally guilty of the offence for the death of more than 2000 children in 25 months.

The NPP Chief said that all the hospitals in the state are in a big mess the way the government is. The entire tragedy in J&K is that the Congress is supporting and backing a corrupt, inefficient and criminal government only with the motive to share the loot of the state exchequer. He demanded trained and technical staff, additional infrastructure and appropriate equipments for both the hospitals in Srinagar as well as in Jammu.

Prof. Bhim Singh urged the Prime Minister that if the government of India fails to discharge its duty towards the safety and security of the children, the Panthers Party shall be compelled to move PIL in the Supreme Court of India against the Govt. of J&K which is the real culprit.
