Sakina asks people not to heed on false propaganda
LASSIPORA/Srinagar, September 22 (Scoop News) - -The Minister for Social Welfare, Miss Sakina Itoo today asked the people not to heed on the false propaganda of those rejected and disgruntled elements who are responsible for dividing the society on party lines resulting in chaos and confusion among people.
The Minister was addressing a huge public meeting at Lassipora,Dhamhal Handjipora in District Kulgam.
Ms Sakina Itoo asked the people to compare the works of the present Government with the previous regime and judge themselves that how much development works are under presently execution in Dhamhal Hanjipora Constituency. She said that Rs.16 crore have been spent under MGNERGA by Rural Development in this constituency. She said that the construction works on scores of new road connections under PMGSY Project is under progress. She said that no such huge development has taken place in the last 50 years as this government did under the leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
The Minister asked the people to remain vigilant against the gimmicks of those elements who were rejected in last Assembly Elections. She said that those leaders who have been rejected by the people, have only one agenda to defame the present government by false propaganda. However, the people of the State are now very cautious and they have the sense to differentiate between the right and wrong, she added.
She said that since the Omer Abdullah took over the reigns of State Government, a new era of development has dawned in length and breadth of the State. She said that several vital sectors like education, road connectivity, PHE,PDD have been prioritised. She said the opening of degree college in the Damhal Hanjipora was a mile stone of this area as many aspirants of higher education were not able to go Anantnag due to weak economic conditions and belonging to backward and downtrodden families. She said now everyone either poor or rich have easy access to the higher education in this constituency. She said that nearly all the roads of the constituency have been macadamised, while new schools have been opened besides a number of schools have been upgraded to spread the education in every nook and corner of State.
Lashing out at the PDD leadership, the Minister said that the leaders of this party were misleading the people by assuring Govt jobs ,healing touch and peace with dignity ,but whey them were in power ,they forgot all these slogans and instead of fulilling their promises, they arrested the youth, harassed them and put them behind the bars.
Ms Sakina said that the CM Omar Abdullah in the presence of Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson at the inaugural function of Railways in Anantnag, said that the J&K issue is a political one and it should be resolved politically .She said the Chief Minister even repeated the same line in the State Assembly. The Minister said that there is a sea change on the ground level and added under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah a new era of development have started throughout J&K State. She said that in 1996 when Dr. Abdullah took over as Chief Minister of the State Valley had suffered extremely, number of school, government building were burnt down and there was a chaos and fear in the State. But due to active cooperation of the people and efforts of Dr. Farooq the schools, hospitals and other government buildings, besides basic infrastructure were reconstructed and a new era of development was started in the State.
Responding to the demands of the Lassipora village, she directed the concerned authorities to pay immediate attention to their demands including construction of school buildings for which the land has already identified and asked the concerned authorities to start the construction work of the building soon.
On the occasion the Minister announced Rs. 3 lakh (1.50 lakh each) for the fencing of two graveyards. The Minister also responded to the problem of Lassipora Water Supply Scheme coming up at the cost of Rs. 50 lakh, directed the PHE authorities to go ahead with the project so that the people of this area may not face shortage in future.
She also directed the PDD engineers for moving a proposal for the replacement of damaged electricity polls, transformers etc.
The Minister assured that medicare facilities will be improved and new Anganwari centre will be opened in the area. She said presently four Anganwari centres are functioning in the village where a good number of children including adolescent girls are being providing nutrition. She appealed the people to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah for over all development of the State.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gulzar Ahmed, Chief Education Officer, Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B, Flood Control, Project Officer, ICDS, Assistant Director, CA&PD, Ranger and BMO were present.
