Head Academics IITTM interacted with faculty members & students of CU of Jammu
Jammu, October 20 (Scoop News)- Prof. Sandeep Kulshreshtha, Head Academics and Nodal Officer, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior, interacted with the students and faculty members of Central University of Jammu on Friday and Saturday. He has given the lectures-cum-presentations to the students of MBA (Tourism and Travel Management) and MBA (Human Resource Management) on the topics,
“Emerging issues in Tourism Sector” and “Industrial requirements and placements scenario in Tourism sector”. Optimal price / quality balance, changing behavior of the customer, adventure tourism, ecotourism etc. were few topics that really captured the interests of the students. It was followed by an interactive session where students exchanged their ideas and clarified their doubts regarding techniques to be adopted for survival in today’s intense competitive market.

Focus was laid on use of exceptional services as well as utilizing the new technologies and social networks as an essential component for tourism industry. Moreover, he also shared the guidelines as well as the importance of building-up of persona which will help the students to enter in tourism industry. After that, he also interacted with the faculty members of MBA (TTM) and MBA (HRM).

In his power point presentations on the topics, “Research issues in Tourism” and “Industry – academia scenario and its consequences with higher education in Tourism”, he discussed the present and emerging trends in tourism research and especially focused on the strategic role of human resource in tourism sector. He also stressed on minimizing the gap between tourism academics and industry requirements by understanding the ever-changing dynamism in tourism industry. Prof. Ashok Aima, Head of the Department – MBA (HRM) and MBA (TTM), welcomed Prof. Sandeep Kulshreshtha and also thanks him to share his vast knowledge and experience of the tourism field.
