Omar’s vision will transform Chenab Valley :NC
Kishtwar/Jammu, October 22(Scoop News)- Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that the Omar Abdullah led government’s visionary, futuristic and comprehensive power generation initiatives will make the Chenab Valley an economic hub of the state.

Rana who was addressing a ten hour long party workers meeting Kishtwar here today said that “unprecedented economic resurgence will happen in this part of the state in the next couple of years changing the scape of the entire sub-region thereby transforming the quality of life of the people of this area thanks to the vision of Omar Abdullah”.

He said Omar Abdullah led government and its journey from 2009 to 2012 has been a journey from turmoil to peace, from disharmony to harmony, a journey of economic resurgence, equitable growth and futuristic infrastructural development.

Political Advisor said Omar Abdullah led coalition government has initiated various power projects which include 93 Mega Watts Ganderbal, 450 MW Baglihar Stage-II, 37.5 Mega Watts Parnai, 1856 MW Sawalakote, 240 MW Karthai, 250 MW Lower Parnai and 990 MW Karthai-II, 600 MW Kiru, 520 MW Kawar and 1000 MW Pakal Dul and 850 MW Rattle project alongwith other projects which are under various stages of their execution.

“The PDP leadership today is crying hoarse but during their three year tenure they did not initiate even a single power project which could have helped today to improve the power scenario in the state”, Rana said adding that the Rs. 3900 crore grant which was received by the PDP as power reform grant from 2002 2005 was swindled away for cheap political gimmicks rather than initiating power reforms to strengthen transmission and distribution system in the state.

He said had even Rs. 1000 crore out of Rs. 3900 crore had been spent on power reforms during 2002 to 2005 by the PDP, the power scenario today would have been much better.

Rana said the polity of the state and the country as a whole has changed and is looking towards a clean, honest, accountable, transparent political setup which is not based on small political machinations but on a vision for the larger good of the people. He said while the PDP leadership has continued with its politics of deceit and hollow sloganeering, National Conference under the leadership of Omar Abdullah has been focusing on value based politics where truth, integrity, clean and good intensions play a pivotal role with the sole aim and objective of providing an effective system of governance.

He said Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will defeat the divisive forces in J&K who have based their politics on region, caste and creed because the J&K National Conference is committed to maintain and uphold and strengthen the secular fabric of the state.

Rana urged the party workers to strengthen the coalition because this coalition is based on ideological synergy and is committed to the welfare of the people of the state and is required for the development of Jammu and Kashmir.


Addressing the party workers at these places Provincial President J&K National Conference Jammu province said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is taking the government from Civil Secretariat to the door steps of the people so that specific public requirements in specific areas are addressed specifically and effectively. He said the Omar led government wants the local developmental issues are properly tackled locally by the local representatives and as such wants to empower and strengthen grass root democratic institutions to ensure comprehensive, transparent and visible development.

Sajjad Kitchloo while addressing the party workers thanked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for paying special attention for the development of this area and said that the people of the area are indebted to the Chief Minister for all the support we have received which has unleashed development across the district.
“I on behalf of people of Kishtwar express my thanks to our Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for conceding to our long pending demands”.
“Opening of University campus, polytechnic college, construction of Kishtwar to Marwah road, Inchan to Marwah road, link roads in far flung area of Padder, Police Colony in Kishtwar, construction of building of District Hospital Kishtwar, two lift water supply schemes for Kishtwar, Naigarh water supply scheme are the major long pending demands of the people of Kishtwar which all were fulfilled by Omar Abdullah”, Sajjad said.
Sajjad Kitchloo also thanked the Chief Minister for starting construction of Pakal Dool, Kiru and Kwar Hydro Projects in Chenab Valley of District Kishtwar.

During the meeting Sajjad Kitchloo also demanded opening of Degree College for Women at Kishtwar, Degree College at Padar, widening of main road from Malipath to Kuleeth Chowk. Expressing concern over the non employment of local youth in the Hydel projects, Kitchloo demanded employment of local youth in the Hydel projects being started by the state coalition government led by Omar Abdullah.

Kitchloo also demanded shifting of headquarters of Chenab Valley Power Projects from Jammu to Kishtwar in view of the fact that all the Hydro Projects viz Pakal Dool, Kiru , Kwar and Ratle are being constructed in the Chenab Valley in Kishtwar district.

Sajjad said Kishtwar district has witnessed holistic development in all spheres and it is our (Party’s) responsibility to take the message of the government to the people and strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his endeavour for peace, progress and prosperity.

Among others who were present in the workers meeting included Tanvir Kitchloo, District President Kishtwar, Brij Mohan Sharma, ex-MLC, Qazi Jajal-ud-Din, Sajjad Shaheen, Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Imtayaz Zargar, Tariq Keen, Shameem Ahmed, Mohammad Aslam Dev, Gh. Mohammad Malik, Th. Kartar Singh, Liaqat Ali, Rajinder Kumar, Manoj Parihar and others.
