CEC Leh asks to preserve & promote cultural richness of region

Leh,October 26(Scoop News)- CEC LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar held a meeting with Sanjana Kapoor and Dr. Nissar Allana of National School of Drama (NSD) who are on a visit to leh to assess the existing condition of the theatrical infrastructures in Leh and to rule out their additional possibilities of upgradation so that they can make proposals and recommendations to acquire funds from Ministry of Culture.

Stressing on two major issues, CEC first expressed the need for an infrastructure to preserve and promote the cultural richness of the region and second, keeping in view the district growing as a most sort after tourist destination, he highlighted the importance of having a professional stage for the performing artists and events of national and international levels in the district.

Besides, CEC seek the visiting team’s support in rebuilding of the existing Leh auditorium at polo ground with a State of Art structure equipped with all sort of modern equipments and technology and requested for their assistance in arranging funds to complete the pending works of Sindhu Sanskriti Centre (SSC) Leh.

Tomorrow the visiting team from NSD will inspect the Leh auditorium and SSC Leh to assess the existing condition of the buildings.

In the meeting, DC Tsering Angchuk, prominent theater artist Mipham Otsal, Phuntsog Ladakhi, President Ladakh Culture Forum Tsering Norbu Martse, Culture Officer Tsewang Paljor and Engineers from Construction Division were also present and shared their views and visions.
