LAHDC, Leh CEO for opening new tourists in the district
CEO directs ZEOs to start identifying the teachers for trainings


Leh, November 03(Scoop News)-The Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today held a meeting with the Union Home Secretary, RK Singh at Council Secretariat and raised some important issues of Leh district seeking prompt support from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India to address them.

The CEC said that LAHDC Leh has already submitted a proposal to the Govt. of India for opening new tourists in the district and urged the Home Ministry for early approval in this regard in view of immense economic benefit to the poor people living in remote and rural areas. Mr. Spalbar also took up the vexed issue of inner line permit system in Ladakh urged the Home Ministry to remove the system saying that this has been a major sourse of irritant and lots of inconveniences not only to the visitors but to hundred and thousands of workers who move from plains insummer to work in different civil and army projects along Indo-China and Indo-Pak borders.

One main issue raised by the CEC before the Union Home Secretary about raining of a Ladakh Women Paramilitary battalion. Mr. Spalbar advocated that Ladakhi women are equally of a sturdy breed well adapted to the harshness of the high altitude environs and full of thrill and pride of serving the Country. Given the strategic importance of the area and extreme climatic condition, the CEC said that the Ladakhi Women Unit could, beyond doubt, prove skilled mountain warriors and contribute immensely in guarding the volatile borders.

The CEC once again raised the pending issue of opening Demjok for cross border trade on the pattern of Nathu-la pass in Sikkim. Urging the Home Ministry for taking up the case at appropriate level, Spalbar said that it will not only boost the regional economy but would go a long way in fostering Sino-Indian relation.

Giving patience hearing to the points raised by the CEC, the Union Home Secretary, Mr. RK Singh assured that he will take up all the issues with the high authority and said that genuine issues of Ladakh will get due attention.

The Executive Councilors of LAHDC and the Deputy Commissioner Leh also present in the meeting.



CEO directs all ZEOs to start identifying the teachers for trainings

"So for very constructive and encouraging response have been received after the introduction of Pre Primary classes in all the govt. schools by integrating ICDS centers with schools and to maintain this positive pace, regular trainings are very important for the teachers by analyzing the positive and negative experiences of last one year".


It was said by Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar while addressing a meeting convened at Council Secretariat for preparation of trainings for the teachers and Anganwadi workers during this winter vacation. Among other who attended the meeting were Executive Councilor for Health & ICDS Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, Dy. CEO, Leh Tsewang Dorjey, Principal DIET, Konchok Angmo, ZEOs, CDPOs and members of NGOs including LNP, Save the Children Fund and 17000 Feet Foundation.

Spalbar said that this year with the collaboration of DIET, Leh, Education Deptt., ICDS Deptt and some NGOs, a well programmed training will be organized in the 3- month long winter vocation at Leh and to make these trainings a productive and fruitful one, maximum number of teachers should attend the proposed trainings. To achieve more effective results, LAHDC, Leh will try its level best to provide these trainings with residential facilities, the CEC added. He directed all the ZEOs to start identifying the teachers for trainings and submit the lists within a week to CEO, Leh and directed DIET Leh to workout a calendar of the trainings as soon as possible.


The Principal DIET, Leh Konchok Angmo presented a tentative programme of the winter trainings which includes orientation trainings for Arabic/ Bodhi teachers, Pre-Primary trainings for both ReT Regularized and Non Regularized teachers, 30 days Content and Methodology trainings for General Line Teachers (New Appointee ), Orientation trainings in Science, Maths, Urdu and English for General Line Teachers, Finance / Administration trainings for Principal /ZEO/ Headmasters.


The Member, 17000 Feet Foundation, Sujata Sahu apprised the meeting that their foundation is going to establish library in all the 360 schools of Ladakh and also shown their willingness to give trainings to the teachers in the winter about Library Management and English training in a simple method.


Besides winter trainings, issues of Anganwadi workers, purchase of schools text books, issues of Residential schools were also discussed in length in the meeting.
