Government to further catapult peace, development process: Omar
Jammu, November 05(Scoop News) - Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday expressed gratitude to people of Jammu and Kashmir for positively helping the government in the maintenance of peace and amity in the State adding that this has helped to carry forward development process on fast track across the State.
“Some people do not want peace to root and normalcy rule the roast. They try to disturb the tranquillity in the name of region, religion, caste and creed and create wedge between various regions”, he said and asked for constant public support to foil the nefarious designs aimed at disturbing peace in the State and creating hatred between various sections of the society.
Addressing a press conference on the opening of moving offices here after six months of annual darbar move, the Chief Minister said that his government would give further impetus to the peace and development process and reach out to people on development front in every area equitably and holistically.
“Our endeavour will be to fulfil the commitments made during 2008 Assembly elections and in the course of governance during last three and a half years of present coalition government”, he added.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated newly constructed light weight 4th floor on construction the existing Civil Secretariat here at a cost of about Rs. 1.50 crore. He also inaugurated five upgraded and computerized administrative halls of CAPD, Transport, G. P. Fund, Sheep and Animal Husbandry Departments.
Director Estates, R. K. Koul gave details of the newly created infrastructure appraising the Chief Minister of nature of the facilities created in the targeted time frame. He said as many as 15 rooms with accessories have been created in the 4th floor block while five administrative halls have been upgraded and modernized to cater to the present and futuristic requirements. He said about Rs. One crore has been incurred on the improvement and upgradation of these halls.
Earlier, on arriving at Civil Secretariat, the Chief Minister was received by the Members of Council of Ministers, Advisors to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretaries, Civil and Police Officers, Representatives of Non-Gazetted Employees’ Union and other government functionaries. He was giving guard of honour by the contingent of J&K Police.
