| JK Governor and others extend New Year greetings | | Prays for well being and prosperity of people of J&K |  Jammu, December 31 (Scoop News) – Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and others today greeted people of the state on the eve of New Year and prayed for well being and prosperity of people of J&K.
N. N. Vohra, Governor, has extended New Year greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In his message of greetings and good wishes, the Governor observed that 2012 had been an important year in the history of the State, in many ways. Recalling the developments during the outgoing year he observed that, among other aspects, the overall security scenario had further improved and militancy related violence had also remained under control.
The Governor wished the people a very Happy New Year and expressed sincere hope that 2013 shall usher in sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed/Law & Order, K. Rajendra Kumar has greeted the people of the state and all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police on the eve of New Year. He has also greeted the families of cops including the martyr’s families, wishing a blissful and happy “New Year”.
Rajendra in his New Year Message has lauded the dedication of JKP and the whole hearted support of the people of the State for maintaining peace and order during the year 2012. He has stressed upon the jawans and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police to continue their efforts in the field of public service and professional policing, with more zeal and dedication in the year 2013.
Describing people’s cooperation pivotal for achieving desired results in the policing, the ADGP has said that the Organization would continue to take the public along in its fight against crime and social evils during the New Year.
Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra has greeted people of the State on the auspicious occasion of New Year.
Malhotra said that the State has reeled under a long spell of turmoil and prayed for peace of the State and prosperity of the people. He hoped the New Year will prove as harbinger of peace and prosperity.
Chairman said “it is time of self audit to review what has been done in the year we left and set new goals for New Year based on betterment of humanity and society.
On the eve of new year, the Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad has greeted the family members of police martyrs and all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police and families. He has wished a happy and prosperous “New Year” for the people of the state and the Police Parivar.
In his New Year Message, Prasad states that during the year gone by, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has made every effort to maintain public order and peace to the satisfaction of the people of the state and to instil a sense of security among them. He said “our best efforts notwithstanding, we have to continue to strive areas where we could have done better.”
