Performance of Banks reviews in Doda
Jammu, January 10(Scoop News) –To review the performance of Banks under Annual Credit Plan of 2012-13, a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC)-cum-District Consultative Committee (DCC) for the quarter ended September 2012 was convened by the State Bank of India, Lead Bank Office Doda, under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan.
LDM, IB Sharma, apprised the meeting that the deposits and advances of all Commercial Banks as on 30/09/2012 stood at Rs.955.93 crores and Rs.190.03 crores respectively, thus achieving CD Ratio of 20 %, with overall achievement of 39% of ACP 2012-13. DDC expressed his displeasure over the declining trend of low CD Ratio and exhorted upon all banks to immediately undertake remedial measures to arrest the fall in CD Ratio which is at low ebb.
DDC also expressed his concern about the tardy progress made by banks to achieve the 100% Financial Inclusion. He directed all the banks to adopt multi pronged holistic approach to make their outreach possible in the far flung villages which are mostly unbanked. They should endeavor to deepen the penetration of Financial Inclusion and expand the converge of financial services of all the sections of society particularly to those at the bottom most of the bottom of the economic pyramid. He further said that the financial Inclusion is a process of ensuring access to financial services and timely and adequate credit where needed by vulnerable groups such as weaker sections, rural women and lower income groups at an affordable cost.
During the meeting a thread bare review of all Govt. sponsored schemes with the focus on SGSY, PMEGP, SJSRY, JKSES, MSE, SHGs, DIR, KCC, DEDS, HANDICRAFT, HANDLOOM and women beneficiaries. The DDC further called upon all line departments and banks to galvanize their efforts and to give boost to the rural credit dispensation particularly by way of KCC,SHG,DEDS and Farmer`s Club. He further advised the sponsoring agencies to conduct the awareness camps in the villages especially in far flung and remote areas to expand their orbit so that more and more people are educated, motivated and facilitated to initiate self employment enterprises in their own areas to ensure overall development of the society.
The DDC enjoined upon all banks and Govt. Depts. to make an earnest endeavor to improve their efficiency so that the common man who is centre of activities of all the concern is benefitted under various Govt sponsored schemes.
The meeting was also attended by AGM RBI, Sh. R K Bhat, DDM NABARD, Sh. Rajesh Badyal, Director RSETI Sh. Lekh Raj and other senior officers of Banks and Govt. Departments.
