| Pulwama, Shopian DCs supervise snow clearance | | Direct set-up of control rooms | PULWAMA /SHOPIAN/Srinagar, January 18 (Scoop News) –
In view of heavy snowfall, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Shafaat Noor and Deputy Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Javid Khan today conducted extensive tours to various areas of their districts along with the concerned officers of the district administration and engineers to oversee snow clearance from the trunk and inter-district roads and directed the concerned for clearing roads for vehicular movement.
The Deputy Commissioners are themselves monitoring the arisen situations due to heavy snowfall in the twin districts. The engineering wings informed the DCs that adequate no. of snow clearance machines have been put into service and all the main and inter district roads have been cleared and opened for traffic movement.
The DCs also instructed the Food and Supplies Deptt. to ensure availability of essential commodities to the people especially living in far flung and remote areas. They also instructed to keep LPG cylinders and kerosene oil available for people. They asked the officers of PDD to restore power supply especially to emergency services.
DC Pulwama Shafaat Noor asked the officers of Municipal committees to form joint inspection squads of police and revenue officers to keep vigil in the market against black marketing and profiteering by the unscrupulous elements.
DC Shopian also directed authorities to activate control rooms for keeping constant monitoring on the situation in view of weather forecast of heavy snowfall and avalanches in upper reaches of the district.
