BJP Panchayat Cell protests against JK government

Jammu, February 25 (Scoop News) - A protest was held at Gangyal on National Highway under the leadership of Baldev Singh Baloria, Convenor BJP Panchayat Cell in which hundreds of BJP workers, including Panches and Sarpanches joined the protest march and burnt the effigy of state government.
Baldev Singh Baloria blamed the state for its failure to provide security to the panchs and sarpanchs. He said that many sarpanchs have been killed by the militants and so many of them has resigned. The recent killing of sarpanch at Baramulla is one more incident which shows that government is not serious regarding security of Panchs and sarpanchs.
Baloria demanded that government should take serious note to provide the security of elected representatives besides giving financial and judicial powers to panchayats and it cannot be possible without implementation of 73rd amendment in Jammu and Kashmir. Baloria said that BJP is always with the Panchs and Sarpanchs of J&K and will fight for strengthen of Panchayat Raj in Jammu and Kashmir.
It was also demanded that if government will not take serious note regarding the problem of panchs and sarpqanchs of J&K BJP will organize protest on district hqrs. and lodge agitation against government.
Other who took part in the protest included Sarpanch Vijay Kumar, OP Magotra, Balwan Singh, Sanjay Koul, Jyoti Parkash, Manohar Lal, L.N. Bhat, Ashok Kumar, Kaka Ram, Ranjeet Singh, Sat Pal Choudhary, Tarseem Choudhary, Vikram Randhawa, Gurdyal Singh Bali, Karam Chand, Choudhary Harbans Lal, Luder Mani Sharma, Suresh Jamwal, Rajiv Charak, Indu Bhushan Sharma and Ashok Khajuria and others.
