China in PoK a serious threat to the security of Kashmir:PK | | Jammu, March 1 (Scoop News) -Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir today expressed seriously concern over the footprints of China in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) including the territories of Gilgat-Baltistan and now the recent handing over the controls of the important Gawadhar port in Baluchistan to China. Addressing a press conference at Jammu, Ashwani said that the coming together of the two hostile powers in these strategic areas is a serious threat to the security of Kashmir and also the maritime interests of India from the gulf of Hormuz to the straits of Malacca. He told reporters that these well planned tactics are ostensibly meant to corner India and pressurize it to hold talks on Kashmir. It is time that the government of India sees through the designs of Pakistan and makes its stand clear on its claims over the entire Pak occupied areas of the Jammu and Kashmir state. Instrument of terror, which has been used by the state of Pakistan over the last three decades, to make India submit to the blackmail, is required to be negated at all levels. The government of India should make it clear that as long as Pakistan pursues terrorism as an instrument of its state policy, no talks are possible as talks and terrorism cannot go together.
Virender Raina, Spokesperson-PK, told reporters that the relief and economic rehabilitation of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community is the primary responsibility of the State and the Central government. The relief holders have been driven to destitution due to the callous attitude of the government and forced to agitate again regarding the enhancement of relief. The decision to increase the relief nominally, has given a feeling to the displaced population that the government is non-serious regarding the issues of the community. The victimized community of Pandits strongly feels that the powers that be are hostile to their interests in their own state. It has taken two decades for the PM’s employment package to see the light of the day and that too with ‘inhuman conditionalities’ driving the community youth to leave the state. Majority of the community youth have become overage as they have been deprived of any employment so far. The community youth who have joined duties in Kashmir have been experiencing a number of exploitations over the last two years. The Kashmiri Pandit community has equal right over the opportunities and resources in the state but it has been successively ignored in the matters of employment and proper economic rehabilitation. Panun Kashmir demands that a special budgetary allocation for the displaced community may be earmarked in the state budget. The health insurance scheme announced earlier may also be extended to the entire displaced population.
