BJP strongly reacts to killing of IRP cops
Jammu, March 4 (Scoop News) - BJP has expressed grief and strongly reacted by condemning the militant attack in Handwara town in Kashmir valley resulting in the killing of IRP Ct. Santosh Singh from District Kathua and IRP Ct. Azad Chand from Distt. Udhampur who succumbed to bullets fired at them at point blank range.
In a statement, BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that these killings of unarmed police personnel are a result of the appeasement policy and anti-national approach adopted by the NC-led government particularly after the hanging of Afzal Guru. He said that attack on police personnel on duty is an offence and criminals should be immediately brought to book.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that in an attempt to gain sympathy from the separatist organizations, Omar led government has issued instructions that military, para-military and police forces should avoid using weapons when on duty while yesterday's incident clearly proved that the two police cops were killed by highly trained militants who used only one bullet shot each to kill the two Jawans by aiming directly in their neck and head area. He said in a bid to seek political mileage from the hanging of Afzal Guru, Omar Abdullah government has created a situation wherein innocent police personnel as well as military and paramilitary jawans posted in the valley from different parts of the country are being made targets of violence instigated by separatist elements.
Meanwhile, BJP State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that the party’s political resolution presented by BJP National Chief Spokesperson & Deputy Leader Rajya Sabha, Ravi Shankar Prasad at the party's National Executive Meeting at New Delhi on Friday and finally adopted at the party's National Council meeting today has clearly outlined the BJP's position on the issue of Afzal Guru and taken strong exception to the government’s deplorable response to the hanging of Afzal Guru. An amendment to this resolution proposed by Dr. Jitendra Singh at the national executive meet accused the Congress party of being involved in a “conspiracy of silence” with National Conference on the Afzal Guru issue.
