BJP protests against JK government and its policies.
Jammu, March 14 (Scoop News) BJP organized extensive protests in entire Jammu region against the state government and its policies.
At Jammu BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma, alongwith hundreds of party activists including Leader of the Legislature Party Ashok Khajuria, MLAs-Sukhnandan Kumar and Shyam Choudhary, senior leaders Dr. Jitendra Singh, Col. Uttam Singh, Chander Prakash Ganga, Sakina Bano, Kavinder Gupta, Bali Bhagat, Rajiv Jasrotia, Amar Nath Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Mohan Singh Chouhan, Ravinder Raina, Priya Sethi, Karan Singh, Surinder Bhagat and Rajesh Gupta, were arrested near Civil Secretariat by J&K Police while they were protesting against corruption, mis-governance, soft policy towards anti-nationals and proceeding to gherao the assembly. The police resorted to unprovoked lathi-charge resulting in injuries to over three dozen male and female activists.
Earlier thousands of party activists assembled outside Press Club and marched towards Civil Secretariat to Gherao Assembly with party flags and placards carrying slogans against the NC-Congress coalition’s mis-governance and pro-separatist policies.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the party activists, said that the Omar Abdullah led coalition government in the state has been speaking in favour of Afzal Guru in assembly and calling him Sahib and on the contrary has no sympathy or pain for the patriotic personnel of army and para-military forces who are falling in line of their duty at the hands of terrorists. He said that the administration has been in effective in governance and corruption is crossing all the limits under this government. The NC has been using all the time to please the separatists and Congress is maintaining a stoic silence, which is very dangerous for the state as well as the country. He said that the refuges, migrants, farmers, employees, educated unemployed youth have grievances but no one cares. People are facing problems on account of inadequate supply of ration, there is hue and cry for electricity, water and other basic amenities. He declared that the party will not allow this government to take people for granted and adopt anti-people, anti-Jammu and pro-separatist policies.
At Basohli BJP former Minister from Punjab Master Mohan Lal, alongwith Dr. Nirmal Singh, Mamta Singh and Ved Mankotia led the party activists and held a massive protest dharna with over 2000 activists outside the office of SDM, Basohli. Dr. Nirmal Singh, on the occasion, criticised the SDM for leaving his office intentionally to avoid accepting the memorandum despite the fact that an appointment for the same had already been fixed.
At Kathua Shamsher Singh Manhas and Vijay Sharma (Adv.) led party activists and held protest dharna outside DC office. In Rajouri BJP senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma and State Vice-president Vibodh Gupta led party activists to hold protest demonstration.
At Ramban, the protest was led by Bansi Lal Bharti, Arun Chhibber, Ghulam Ali Khatana and Vijay Thakur. Sunil Sharma and Rajinder Singh led the protest at Kishtwar. At Udhampur Pawan Gupta, Pawan Khajuria and Dina Nath Bhagat led the same. At Reasi N.D. Rajwal and Ajay Nanda led the protest. At Poonch it was led by Sunil Gupta.
Over three dozen injured included Col. Uttam Singh, Shyam Choudhary, Yudhvir Sethi, Munish Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ravinder Raina, Ayodhya Gupta, Narotam Sharma, Vijay Choudhary, Mohan Singh Rana, Sanjay Baru, Ashwani Sharma Ajay Vaid, Priya Jral, Manju Dogra, Sudershan Tirlochan, Parveen Arora, Rajni Sethi, B.S.Jasrotia, Ishan Thappa, Jeet Angral and Rakesh Mishra.
