JK Governor,CM,others greet people on Nauroz

Jammu, March 20 (Scoop News) – J&K Governor, N. N. Vohra,Chief Minister Omar Abdulla Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir , Chairman, Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra , PDP party patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti have felicitated the people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz.

N. N. Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the festival has both cultural and religious significance. Noting that this important day is also observed as World Arbour Day, he emphasized the need to plant the maximum number of trees for preserving the environment.
The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.

Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has felicitated people on Nauroz wishing them happiness and prosperity.
In a message on Nouroz-e-Alam, Omar Abdullah expressed the hope that the day will herald a new era of peace and progress in the State.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of March 21 as the World Arbor Day and called for massive plantation across the State on this day.


Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today felicitated the people on the eve of Nouroz.
In a message, the Minister hoped that the event will prove a harbinger of peace in the state and usher an era of prosperity and development.

The Chairman, Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra has greeted the people of the State, especially the Shia Muslim community on the eve of Nauroz being celebrated on March 21 every year all over the world.
Malhotra said that Jammu and Kashmir is a symbol of composite culture where people of different religions are living together in peace and harmony adding that this centuries old brotherhood and communal harmony needs to be strengthened.
He hoped that the day will usher the state in a new era of progress and prosperity and people will stand united to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and amity, while celebrating the festival.
Malhotra said that the Nauroz is also being celebrated as world Arbor Day and stressed upon the people to participate in large numbers in the plantation drive in their respective areas. He said that planting of trees was essential to protect the rich environs of the State.
The Chairman said that this day provides opportunity to all of us to plant at least one tree and contribute towards conservation of environment.

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of new calendar year, Nauroz-e-Aalam.
In his message Mir said that the new calendar year (Nauroz) will bring peace, communal harmony and prosperity to the people of the State. He said the people of the State have a tradition to celebrate all the religious festivals with gaiety and religious fervor.


Peoples Democratic party have greeted people on Nowruz. Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in the Iranian calendar. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical Northward equinox, which usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day depending on where it is observed.
Extending the greetings to the people of the state the party patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti prayed for peace, development and tranquility in the state.
