BJP condoles demise of Kotwal

Jammu, April 9 (Scoop News) – BJP Veteran leader of the Jammu Kashmir state,Ex State President Daya Krishan Kotwal passed away at AIIMS New Delhi Tuesday morning.

His body was flown to Jammu and kept at party head office Pt. Ptem Nath Dogra Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, before being taken to Bhaderwah to his ancestral home for last rites.


On the sad demise of BJP Veteran leader of the state, Late Daya Krishan Kotwal, party headquarters at Jammu witnessed rush of party leaders, admirers, friends and wellwishers of Kotwalji to pay their last tributes at Jammu.

In a condolence message from party high command at New Delhi, BJP senior National leader Lal Kishen Advani, while expressing his condolence, said that Daya Krishan Kotwal played an important role in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee’s efforts for total integration of J&K with India. He always worked to boost the morale of party activists even in unfavourable conditions and his demise has caused irreparable loss. BJP National President Rajnath Singh, leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swraj, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and other national leaders also condoled the sad demise.
Earlier, Lal Kishen Advani, alongwith National General Secretary (Org) Ram Lal, National Geneal Secrertary J.P. Nadda, alongwith party activists reached AIIMS to lay down their wreaths.
BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that in his death the party has lost a veteran and most seasoned leader and his loss cannot be made up. Sh. Kotwal had dedicated his entire life to the ideology of the party and worked ceaselessly for the people of militancy-affected areas of erstwhile Doda district.

National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that Kotwal was an embodiment of dedication and selfless struggle for the party and its ideology. Under his presidentship the party was able to create a strong and stable support base in Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar regions.

National Executive Member and MLA Ashok Khajuria while paying tributes to Sh. Kotwal said that he had risen from a humble worker of the party to the presidentship of the entire state through his struggle for the party and its cause. He recalled the hardwork he did during the peak of militancy in Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar region and had been instrumental in creation of Village Defence Committees.
National Executive Member Shamsher Singh Manhas said that his contribution in strengthening the party in whole of the state had been pivotal. Even he was seen working hard at the age when people need rest, which itself speaks of his desire to work for masses.
National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperso Dr. Jitendra Singh said that with the demise of Kotwalji, an era has come to an end and he was the last of the stalwarts from that geneation.

State General Secretary (Ogr. ) Ashok Koul recalled the services of Sh. Kotwal for the organization of the party and sangh parivar. He had played a major role in strengthening RSS in Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar regions. Ashok Koul prayed to God to enable the bereaved family the bear this irreparable loss and be able to face the tragedy.

Besides, VHP President Rama Kant Dubey, ABVP National Vice-president Prof. Narinder Singh Raina, SOS Internation Head Rajiv Chuni, family members of Kotwalji Chander Shekhar Kotwal, J.P. Uttam Singh, Chander Prakash Ganga, Ramesh Arora, Usha Choudhary, Sakina Bano, Kavinder Gupta, Bali Bhagat,Chander Mohan Sharma, Onkar Seth, Mamta Singh, Munish Sharma, Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Satish Sharma, Sat Sharma (C.A), Yudhvir Sethi, Dr. Nirmal Kamal, Arun Chhibber, Sanjeev Sharma, Lalit Moza, Rajni Sethi, Mohan Singh Chauhan, Bansi Lal Bharti, N.D. Rajwal, Subash Jandial, Rajesh Gupta, Kulbushan Mahotra, Rajinder Sharma, Naresh Dogra, Aseem Gupta, Purnima Sharma, Shilpi Verma, Kuldeep Magotra, Chander Mohan Gupta, Ravinder Raina, Karan Singh, Priya Sethi, Surinder Bhagat, Shakti Parihar, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Sunil Sharma, Vijay Mohan Thakur, Basant Raj, Neeru Anand, Vipin Shastri, Vijay Choudhary, Mohd. Saleem Bhat, Surinder Choudhary also paid their tributes.
