Live Broadcast of Cricket Commentary in Kashmiri
First ever Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League – 2013


Jammu, April 17 (Scoop News) –This will be recorded in history as a spectacular day for Kashmiri language as cricket commentary in kashmiri language was broadcast live on Sharda Radio FM-90.4 and its online edition for first time in the history of our state. Live commentary for the semi-final and final matches of the second edition of Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPL-2013) held at Mohan Cricket Grounds, Kadarpur, Gurgaon was arranged by Kashyap Kashmir Sabha, Gurgaon with the help of Sharda radio who made it possible by arranging logistics at the venue. Ravinder Ravi well known news caster and Sh Bharat Dass were there as Commentators for the matches which was broadcast live for about eight hours. Community members in Jammu and other parts of globe had either switched on their radio sets or were listening the on-line commentary and following the final matches.The tournament was held on 13th & 14th April,2013 at Gurgaon where eight Kashmiri Pandit cricket teams from eight different towns had gathered to compete for this prestigious cup. Cricket team from Jammu defeated Jagti Township by Six wickets to lift the cup for the second edition of Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League - 2013.
After grand success of first edition of KPL- 2012, Kashyap Kashmir Sabha, Gurgaon had initiated second edition of Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League this year which had participation from young and talented members of the community from different cities of north India where upcoming talent and eminent sports persons of our community participated. Holding such a tournament in the national capital region(NCR) has its own significance as it gives a chance to our community in exile to interact with each other and also provides a platform to our young and budding sports persons of our community to display their talent which can help them to play at higher levels. This year couple of teams from Jammu had also been invited and they travelled all the way from Jammu to Delhi and Gurgaon to be part of this sporting event. Teams from Chandigarh, Jaipur, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad,Gurgaon and Delhi were also invited and at last eight teams competed in the second edition of KPL-2013 at Mohan Cricket Grounds, Kadarpur, Gurgaon.
In the semi-final stage boys from Jagti Township had defeated experienced Gurgaon team by 26 Runs while as rest of Jammu team had defeated last year’s champions Harmukh Cricket Club, Chandigarh by nine runs.In the nail biting finish Jammu team defeated Jagti Townsip in the finals by Six wickets to clinch the title with one ball to spare. Scoring eleven runs of the last over seemed difficult but Jammu team scored eleven runs in only five balls to give a big jolt to the supporters of the Jagti township.Pt Rahul Musa was declared man of the match for his brilliant all round performance, scoring 30 runs not out and claiming two wickets for just 11 runs. Ramanjeet Singh of Jagti township was declared Man of the Series.


Teams were distributed in two groups and preliminary Matches were played at two cricket grounds in Gurgaon. Teams from Jaipur, Chandigarh, Faridabad,Gaziabad,Delhi and host team from Gurgaon were part of this sporting extravaganza. Special cultural evening had also been arranged by members of Orzoo foundation on 13th evening for community members & guest teams. Prominent singers of community including Dalip Langoo, Sanjeev Gautam Raina, Raj Koul and child artist Master Vansh Pandita gave spectacular performances which were applauded by the gathering there. Prominent Wicket-keeper batsman and Ex- Ranji trophy cricketer Pt Sanjeeva Chowdhary was given Life time achievement award for his contribution towards sports and following trophies were handed over to the participating players.
Best Batsman : Pt Aditya Aima of Faridabad Team who scored the only century of the tournament.
Best Bowler : Pt Navneet Zutshi of Gurgaon Team.
Best Fielder : Pt Rahul Musa of Jammu Team.
Best Wicket-Keeper : Pt Chander Pandita of Jagati Township.
Upcoming Player : Pt. Vishal Kant of Jammu Team.
Maximum Sixes : Pt Hitesh Dhar of Chandigarh Team.
Man of the Series : Sdr. Ramanjeet Singh of Jagti Township
Man of the Match Ist Semi-Final(Jmu Vs Chd) : Pt Akshay Kaul of Jammu Team
Man of the Match IInd Semi-Final(Ggn Vs Jagti) : Pt. Amit Dhar of Jagti Team
Man of the Match (Finals) : Pt Rahul Musa of Jammu Team
Members of Kashyap Kashmir Sabha, Gurgaon including Pt Pankaj Dhar,Pt O N Pandit, Pt B L Kaul, Pt Mithelesh Labroo andof All India Kashmiri Samaj Pt Vijay Aima Pt Aryan Ramesh were present there.The tournament was well supported by Prominent KP biradari of Gurgaon and other parts of NCR. Kashmiri Sewak Samaj(KSS), Faridabad played an important role in arranging logistics for the teams from Jammu and Jagti Townships.
