JK Minister stresses public to educate their children
Anantnag/Srinagar, April 27 (Scoop News)- J&K Minister for Tourism, G.A. Mir today said that education will be the essence of modern day life and every society will be known by the level of education.
The Minister was addressing a function after inaugurating up-gradation of Middle School, Shangran to the Secondary level here today.
The Minister stressed upon the general public to educate their children as the coming generations will be known by the level of education. With regard to educational development in Dooru Constituency, the Minister revealed that 91 Primary Schools have been opened and 104 have been upgraded to Middle level under SSA scheme. In the meantime, 7 Middle Schools have been upgraded upto Secondary level under RMSA in the Constituency.
He announced a project of Rs. 2.20 crore water supply scheme for Shangran and other adjacent villages and said that the scheme will be executed at Jaibal and the work will commence shortly so that the completion is assured within a year to provide drinking water facility to the people.
Chief Education Officer informed the Minister that the High School building with a capacity of 10 class rooms at Shangran will be constructed by R&B Department at a cost of Rs. 49.17 lakh. He further said that out of sanctioned 105 primary school blocks, 77 have been completed, out of sanctioned 21 Middle School blocks 14 have been completed and out 19O additional class rooms, 97 have been completed in the Dooru Constituency. One "KGBV" residential school for girls under NPEGEL is also functioning in
rented building at Yaker Buroo Kapran.
Chief Education Officer Anantnag also informed the gathering that 10820 students are covered under mid day meal scheme while free text books at a cost of Rs. 24,75,705 have been distributed among 97016 students of the Constituency.
District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone also spoke on the occasion and stressed upon parents to educate their wards so that they can face the challenges of future.
