Leh emerged as a model in India under leadership of Rigzin Spalbar:Jora
Leh, May 4 (Scoop News) – Highlighting the success stories of LAHDC, Leh, J&K Urban Dev. Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora today said that under the visionary leadership of CEC Rigzin Spalbar, LAHDC, Leh has emerged as a model in India due to its proficient, transparent and diligent work culture and said that under the Ladakh Vision Document present council is leading Leh district towards self reliant and sustainable development. He also spoke about the achievements of Congress government particularly the speedy restoration works in Leh after the devastating flash flood of 2010.


Rigzin Jora and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today laid the foundation stones of flood protection and training of main Nimoo nallah and Ronjuk nallah funded under the Flood Management Programme Centrally Sponsored Schemes and the completion time is 2014-15. Jora also inaugurated an 8 Mtrs span concrete bridge at Ronjuk nallah which was completed at a cost Rs. 53 lacs by R&B Division. Jora and Rigzin Spalbar also handover a 3.20 Mtrs still bally motorable bridge to the people of Nimoo which was completed at a cost of Rs. 85 lacs under MP lead area development fund.


Congratulating the people of Nimoo on the launching of flood protection bund project at Nimoo nallah, Jora said that with the completion of this project the flow of water in the basin of flood prone nallah of Nimoo will improve immensely in years to come.
Referring to the significant role of Panchayat in development of Leh district, Jora said that rules and policies of both LAHDC and Panchayat in Leh district has a clear provisions to work together in a coordinated and harmonized way and as such the Minister strongly urged upon the elected members of LAHDC and Panchayat to work together for strengthening Panchyat system in Leh.
CEC Rigin Spalbar greeting the people of Nimoo on the occasion said that with the dynamic leadership of Minster Rigzin Jora a new chapter of development has started in Leh distt and at present about Rs. 1380 crore are being expended on different ongoing projects and works in Leh district. Speaking about the efforts of Jora in sanctioning funds for Leh distt, Spalabar assured that LAHDC, Leh will leave no stone unturned in making full and timely utilization of these funds day and night.
The councilor Nimoo Tsering Norboo expressed gratitude to Jora and CEC on behalf of the villagers of Nimoo for their constant support and concern in bringing timely development in the village.
On the occasion on behalf of village Nimoo, Minister Jora welcomed newly joined DC, Leh Simrandeep Singh with traditional Khataks and also honoured Head Mrs. High School Nimoo madam Padma with Khataks for giving 100% result in 10th board examination.
In the afternoon, the Minister Jora along with CEC Rigzin Jora inaugurated a 60 Feet Steel Bally bridge at Basgo which was constructed at cost of Rs. 94 lac by R&B Division and with the completion of his bridge the Mohallas of Thangkob and Nunam are connected with the main road. The minster Jora also inaugurated the 8 bedded newly constructed PHC of Basgo which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 54 lacs under District Plan by R&B Division.
Among who present on the occasion were EC Agriculture Sonam Dorjey, EC Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, EC Tourism Gurmet Dorjey, MLC, Norboo Gyaltson, DC, Leh Simrandeep Singh, ASP, Leh P. Sonam, district level officers and engineers and people of Nimoo village were also present on the occasion.
The Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora and CEC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar later at Ney in a big function organized by villages of Ney and Basgo also laid the foundation stone of flood protection and training of Basgo-Ney nallah at Ney which will be completed in 2014-15.
Speaking in tandem, the Councilor Basgo Tsering Norboo and Sarpanch Ney Tsering Aanchuk expressed their gratitude and thanked minister Jora and LAHDC, Leh headed by CEC Rigzin Spalbar for their efforts in sanctioning of funds for this project. They said that with the completion of this project the farmers of Ney and Basgo will be highly benefited as this nallah is one of the danger nallah in Leh causing heavy damage due to flood and gave credit for sanctioning of this important project o Jora and Rigzin Spalbar.
