Prof.Gupta concern over influx of Burmees & Bangladeshis in J&K
Jammu, May 13 (Scoop News) –Voicing concern over the influx of foreigners in the State especially their stay in and around the sensitive locations of the Capital city of Jammu, the former union minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has taken a strong exception over the silence of the ruling leaders to explain that how the Burmees and Bangladeshis are coming to this part of country after travelling thousands of miles, and who are the elements working behind this game plan and who are funding their stay and imparting them religious education by opening schools and Madrassas.

In a statement, Prof. Gupta observed that the Government is providing contradictory figures about the arrival of Burmese. He pointed out that in October last year in reply to a question of Engineer Abdul Rashid it was given that 431 families of Burma refugees are residing at Narwal Balal and Channi rama in the outskirts of Jammu City but this year in March last the number of these Burmese was stated to be 325 families in reply to a similar question and their places of staying were given eleven including Narwal Bala, Channi Rama, Bhawani Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Bhatindi, Vidata Nagar, Karyani Talab, Kargil Colony, Railway Station Mohalla and Sector Domana. The number of souls was also contradictory.

Prof. Gupta said that the most intriguing part of the arrival and stay of these foreigners was that the names of the colonies where they are putting up are also being changed. For instance, he pointed out that Bhatindi has been renamed as Hamza Colony, It is said that some of the commanders of the ultras were also having given name of Hamza who were killed in operations of security forces at various places.

He also questioned the “human approach of the Srinagar based elements coming to the help of the foreigners and said that why they did not come in supporting and funding the Kashmiri migrants who also included about 3000 muslim families.

Prof. Gupta expressed surprise that the ruling leaders were not prepared to grant citizenship rights and other assistance to refugees from Pakistan staying in Jammu areas despite their stay in J&K for over six decades now but they do not seem opposed to the arrival of large number of foreigners including ultras coming with Pakistani wives and children born there.
