Pulwama annual plan pegged at Rs 79.00 Cr
Sakina for implementing board decisions in letter & spirit
Pulwama/Srinagar, May 27 (Scoop News) –The annual plan outlay for Pulwama District for the current financial year would be over Rs 79.00 crore. Of this Rs 28.12 crore would be revenue component and Rs 51.00 crore as capital component. This was the first District Development Board meeting in the state.
This was stated at District Pulwama Board Meeting held here today with Minister for Social Welfare, ARI Trainings and Public Grievances Ms. Sakina Itoo in chair who also heads the board.
Addressing the meeting, Ms. Itoo called upon the officers that the board decisions should be implemented in letter and spirit, so that the development schemes taken in hand reach to the people on ground. She said that the projects which are under construction in various sectors should be completed in stipulated time and frame. She directed the district administration for developing the Pulwama town as a modal town and steps be taken for beautification of the Pulwama town.
The meeting reviewed the action taken on the decisions of the board meetings held last year and discussed in detail the fiscal and financial targets proposed for current financial year.
District Development Commissioner Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Lone gave a detailed resume of fiscal and financial achievements registered in the district through a PowerPoint presentation. He said that Rs 61.18 crore have been utilized on various development schemes in the district during last fiscal.
It was stated in the meeting that Rs 12.20 crore have been proposed for R&B sector, under which 14 schemes would be completed during the current financial year and 38.45 kms road length are proposed for black-topped.
Under Social Welfare sector Rs 33.87 lacs are proposed to be spent on various social welfare schemes for SC/OBC communities. About 3100 students shall be given pre-matric scholarships, 112 ITI trainees shall be given stipend. Under nutrition programme Rs 3.65 crore are proposed for providing nutrition among 36099 beneficiaries of Pulwama district.
Under MGNREGA 6500 works are proposed to be taken to generate 12 lac mandatory incurring an amount of Rs 60 crore on this scheme.
Under IAY Scheme 1400 new houses would be constructed costing an amount of Rs 7 crore, the meeting was informed.
The meeting was told that 15 road connectivity schemes have been targeted for the current financial year under PMGSY.
Under PHE Sector an amount of Rs 6.70 crore are being proposed to be incurred under the said programme. 5 water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 7.28 crore are proposed to be completed during current fiscal which include Gundbal, Androosa, Syed Mantaqi Colony Seerbagh, Syed Qasim Colony, Naina and Shadimarg.
It was stated in the meeting under minor irrigation sector 5 schemes are proposed to be completed during current fiscal which include Dogripora, Pethkhul & Harakhul etc costing Rs 8. Crore by providing irrigation potential to 1071 hectares of agricultural land.
Under Health Sector an amount of Rs 3.47 cr are proposed to be incurred for providing better healthcare medical facilities to the people of district Pulwama.
Under Education Sector an amount of Rs 1.99 crore are proposed to be incurred on elementary, secondary & teacher education during the current fiscal.
The legislators projected various demands for development in their constituencies, which the chairperson directed the concerned officers for immediate necessary action.
Members of Parliament Dr. Mehboob Beigh, Gh. Nabi Ratanpuri, legislators Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Syed Bashir Ahmad, Khaleel Bandh, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Radhey Sham, Bashir Ahmad Magray all head of Departments and officers of the district administration were present in the meeting.
