BJP held protests at mandals level against separate symbols & Article-370

Jammu, July 6 (Scoop News)-On the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh President Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, BJP organised protest demonstrations and burnt effigies at mandals level in support of their demand for withdrawal of separate constitution and separate flag from the state and for complete integration of state with the Indian union by abrogating Article-370.
BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma and J&K Seh-Prabhari R.P. Singh led the protest at Rajouri and later addressed party activists.
While addressing the protestors, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Dr. Mookerjee sacrificed his life while opposing the provision of permit system and separate symbols for J&K under the slogan of Ek Vidhaan, Ek Nishaan, Ek Pradhaan. He said that the separate symbols have induced a sense of separatism among the minds of Kashmiri people, which is not good for the state and the nation. He said that grant of special status under Article-370 of the Indian constitution has lost its significance and need to be abrogated. He said that those who are advocating the continuance of this article should come out with atleast one benefit which has been enjoyed by a common citizen.
BJP National Executive Member & Leader of legislative Party Ashok Khajuria said that the mission of Dr. Mookerjee still remain incomplete as the successive governments in the state has not taken any step to end with separate symbols and scrap Article-370. He said that the death of Dr. Mookerjee is mystery even after 60 years, which itself indicates that he was murdered for his patriotic ideology as he represented the sentiments of large population who were working for full integration of the state with the rest of the country.
R.P. Singh said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir acceded with the Indian Union under the same instrument of accession as signed by the other princely states. Its accession was final and J&K became integral part of India. Hence, there was no need of any special status to this particular state, which was done under pressure from Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, who wanted to please Sheikh Abdullah.
BJP Kashmir Cell National Co-Convenor Chander Mohan Sharma said that on this pious day, the party has decided to launch campaign for abrogation of Article-370 and also abrogation of separate constitution and separate flag. He said that Article-370 has proven to be a hurdle in the process of national integration and progress of J&K state.
BJP State General Secretary Bali Bhagat said under Article-370, the President of India enjoys absolute executive powers and using these executive powers he can issue an executive order abrogating this Article. He pointed out that Article 356 is not applicable to Jammu & Kashmir. He said the day will surely come sooner than later when the President of India would invoke Article 370 to revoke it and bring the State at par with other states of the Union.
