Highway closure:Hurrriyat appeals shopkeepers not to indulge profiteering
Srinagar,March 13,(Scoop News)_All Parties Hurriyat Conference(APHC) leader,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,has expressed grief and anguish over the loss of life and extended his sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families who lost their dear ones due to heavy snowfall and house collapse at various places across the valley.

According to reports these incidents had taken place at Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam, Shopian, Kellar, Pulwama etc.

Mirwaiz also prayed for the speedy recovery of scores of people who were injured during the snow related incidents in the Valley.

Meanwhile, APHC spokesman the authorities said that despite fore-knowledge of the heavy snowfall, no serious effort was made to prevent the loss of lives and property, which has once again exposed their callous attitude towards the people,who are left alone in these difficult times.


The spokesman said the people are facing immense hardships due to flooding of roads and alleys as a result of poor drainage system,shutdown of power supply and lack of drinking water.

APHC has also appealed to shopkeepers that due to shortage of supplies resulting from the closure of national highway,not to indulge in price rise and black marketing, thereby adding to the sufferings of the common man.
