| Daylong training programme for AEROs, BLOs held at SKICC | | Srinagar, April 16, (Scoop News)-The District Election Officer, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah conducted a daylong training programme for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and other officers concerned with Lok Sabha Elections-2014 for 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency to acquaint them with various aspects of elections including handling of EVMs, distribution of voter slips among the electorate besides other measures for conducting free, fair and smooth Lok Sabha elections in the district.
As many as 700 AEROs, BLOs and officials associated with the conduct of Lok Sabha polls participated in the training programme.
The Booth Level Officers were asked to collect voter slips by or before April 17, 2014 from District Election Office, Srinagar and deliver the voter slips to electorates in their respective areas at their doorsteps by or before April 25, 2014 to enable them to cast their votes for 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency comprising of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts.
The officers were asked to provide necessary information to voters regarding the use of EVMs.
The voters have been asked to bring along Election Photo Identity Cards on the polling day and in case the voter is unable to produce EPIC, Passport, Bank/Post Office Pass Book with Photo, Driving Licence, ID Cards issued by the Government departments/PSUs shall be produce on the occasion as their identity proof.
The concerned officers and officials were asked to work with dedication and synergy to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Elections-2014.
The Booth Level Officers were asked to visit Polling Stations to review the necessary arrangements being made for the elections for 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency which are being conducted on April 30, 2014.
Meanwhile, the General Election Observers, Harbhupinder Singh Nanda and Ashok Kumar Singh convened a meeting of Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Booth Level Officers and other officer concerned with Lok Sabha Elections-2014 here today at SKICC Srinagar to review poll preparedness.
The Police Observer, Sanjay Srivastav was also present on the occasion.
