| JKP establishes tent colony at Bemina | | Jammu, September 23, (Scoop News)- Jammu and Kashmir Police has undertaken various activities supplementing support to the civil administration in relief and restoration measures.
As a part of this campaign, the Organization today established a tent colony at Bemina near Haj House. 40 homeless families have been accommodated in the colony. The aim is to provide all possible assistance to the flood sufferers and alleviate their hardships as their houses and belongings have been damaged by the floods.
Side by side, the Organization is supplementing the authorities to in restoration of hospitals and other essential establishments to bring the life on rails. The jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police today under took the cleaning of G B Pant Hospital to help the hospital administration in restoring the functioning of day-to-day work. Water tankers and gen sets were pressed into service to ensure the cleaning of hospital.
Moreover, a medical and relief camp was conducted at Aali Masjid Idgah in which more than 500 patients were treated by the doctors of Police Hospital Zewan. Free medicines were distributed among the patients, besides blankets, food items and drinking water among the sufferers.
The Organization feels its responsibility to provide all possible support to the civil administration in relief and restoration work as the calamity has devastated the valley at large. All stakeholders and sections of people have to take collective efforts to overcome the sufferings of the people. More relief activities would be conducted in different affected areas.
The activities were carried under the supervision of Commandant JKAP 9th Bn. Altaf Ahmed Khan. He was assisted by Dy. SP, Muzaffar Ahmed and other officers and jawans.
