YRS celebrates 119th Birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh
Demands establishment of Rajput welfare Board and state holiday on 23rd Sept
Jammu, September 23, (Scoop News)-The Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) today celebrated 119th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh ji at Paloura where various Sabha Presidents of Rajput communities participated with enthusiasm. On the occasion the achievements and the role of Maharaja Hari Singh was highlighted by various speakers. They also stressed upon the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh to protect the identity and rights of the subjects of the state. Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA and state President NPP, Ch. Lal Singh, Ex MP and Sr. BJP leader and Sh. Dharamveer Singh, Ex-Dy. Mayor, JMC and NC leader were the special Guests on the occasion.

Meanwhile the members of YRS honoured the special Guests by presenting them the swords. While speaking on the occasion Balwant Singh Mankotia appreciated the efforts of the YRS to unite the Rajput community and promoting their cause. He said that collective efforts should be made to get the community united and prepare future plans for the welfare and development of the community in the state.

Ch. Lal Singh while criticizing the role of successive ruling parties in ignoring the role of Maharaja Hari Singh towards the welfare of the state said that it is highly discriminatory that the kashmiri dominated state govts used to observe death and birth anniversaries of so called kashmiri leaders with much fanfare and state holidays however the same treatment has been denied to the Maharaj Hari Singh as well as founder of the state Maharaja Gulab Singh only because the duo were hailing from Jammu. He urged upon the community members to get united as the time has come to snatch our due place and dignity which the Rajput community deserve since long.
He also endorsed the demand of the YRS of declaring 23rd September as State Holiday as a mark of respect to the great Dogra warrior Maharaja Hari Singh.

Sh. Dharamveer Singh while speaking appealed the youth of Rajput community to stay away from the growing menace of drugs which is fast engulfing the youth of the state.

Surinder Singh, State President YRS demanded the establishment of the Rajput Welfare Board on the pattern of other community welfare boards so that the Rajput community could be uplifted with special attention. He said that in other states the Rajput Welfare Boards are constituted by the respective govts and thus the same needs to be framed on priority in our state as well. He also urged upon the community to observe 23rd September as holiday on their own in respect of Maharaja Hari Singh if the state govt still remains indiscriminate on the issue.

Other prominent among those who were present on the occasion include members core committee Raghubir Singh Sarpanch, Rajinder Singh, Pushvinder Singh, Darvinder Singh, Billu Singh, Pappi Singh, Yashpal Singh, Sonu Singh, Rinku Singh, Vilram Singh, K D Singh, Harnam Singh, Mintu Singh Sarpanch, Lassu Singh Sarpanch, Kuldeep Singh Sarpanch, Rajdev Singh Sarpanch, Balbir Singh Sarpanch, Nanha Singh Sarpanch, Peter Singh Sarpanch, Prem Singh Sarpanch, Bittu Singh Sarpanch, Dewakar Singh Sarpanch and others.
