122 pumps utilized in dewatering operation round the clock: DG FES
Srinagar, September 23, (Scoop News)-Direct General, Fire & Emergency Services today said that as many as 122 portable fire pumps and fire tenders have had been deployed by the Fire and Emergency Services Department for dewatering operations in several areas of Srinagar City. These pumps have been operated round the clock to quicken the dewatering process.
He said that after the city was submerged due to floods, 10 Stations of the department were submerged in water in which fire tenders, portable fire pumps, hydraulic platforms and other imported equipment were inundated. He said, however, the department utilized all machinery that was available besides it arranged Fire Tenders, and pumps from other districts including Jammu region and started the dewatering operations on war footing.
He said the department conducted dewatering and cleaning of Bone & Joint Hospital, JVC Medical College, Dental College, GB Pant Hospital, SMHS Hospital, Lal Ded Hospital besides several areas of Srinagar including Sonawar, Shaheed Gunj, Civil Secretariat, DPL Srinagar, Bemina, Lal Chowk, Karan Nagar, TRC, Jawarnagar, Rajbagh, Silk Factory, Batmaloo, Tengpora, Shivpora, Indranagar, Nawpora, Qamarwari, Baba demb, MA Road, Telephone Exchange, Old Barzulla, Baghat, Chattbal etc.
