| PDD working towards restoring 100% power supply | | Srinagar, September 23, (Scoop News)-Chief Engineer, PDD, Kashmir today said that during the last 10 days Power Development Department has put in all efforts and has brought the power supply from 30% to 81% of its normal value in Kashmir Valley. Besides all hospitals, major water supply schemes, Civil Secretariat etc have been power supply. The percentage is expected to reach 90% within a week’s time.
In order to reach 100% level the department has to repair/replace the transformers which have remained under water for over two weeks and are likely to be damaged due to breakdown of insulation.
He further said that each transformer shall require at least 10 days time to repair. Consumers are requested to bear with PDD during the period of crisis and not to collect money for sending these transformers to repair centers at their own level and also not to force PDD staff to energize these without checking which may cause damage to life and property.
He said PDD shall make every attempt to restore these transformers as early as possible.
