Samoon reviews fertilizers position in valley
Srinagar, October 29, (Scoop News)- Agriculture Production Commissioner, Dr. Asgar Samoon has stressed upon the fertiliser companies to ensure that fertilisers remain available to the farmers of Kashmir division. He asked them to create buffer stocks so that in the eventuality of road block or weather vagaries, farmers are not put to any inconvenience on this account.
He was reviewing the stock supply position of fertilisers in Kashmir division at an officers meeting here today.
He asked the companies to implement the Mobile Fertiliser Monitoring Systems (MFMS) in all areas of the Division as after lifting of ban on SMS facilities on prepaid mobiles there should be no excuse to implement the scheme. He also directed the companies to desist from self transportation of fertilisers to ensure that fertilisers reach to all destinations as per requirement.
The meeting was informed that the fertilisers companies operating in Kashmir division are making 1250 MTs of Urea, 2000 MTs of DAP and 600 MTs of MOP available to the farmers in Kashmir division during the current Rabi season.It was also informed that during Kharif season the companies supplied 55184 MTs of Urea, 24218 MTs of DAP and 2757 MTs of MOP to the farmers
Among others, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Law Enforcement, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Kashmir and representatives of various fertiliser companies like NFL, Chambal, TATA, IPL attended the meeting.
