NPP leaders call on Chief Election Commissioner | Demandes intervention for free and fair poll | Jammu, October 30, (Scoop News)- Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party accompanied by Syed Rafiq Shah, MLC, President, Young Panthers called on Shri V.S. Sampath, the Chief Election Commissioner of India this morning and submitted to him several documents relating to violation of Code of Conduct by Dy. Commissioner, Udhampur and demanded an appropriate action without delay. Prof.Bhim Singh also submitted the names of the candidates contesting election from J&K seeking intervention of the Chief Election Commissioner for providing appropriate security cover to the candidates. The NPP Supremo told the CEC that the candidates announced by political parties other than the Panthers Party have been provided security cover whereas the Panthers Party has been discriminated with. The Election Commission assured the NPP leaders that the election shall be free and fair and the Commission shall not allow anybody to interfere with the process. The CEC expressed hope that the maximum voters from each district of the Valley and Jammu Pradesh shall record their presence at the polling stations so that they may be in a position to return the candidates of their choice. Prof.Bhim Singh, however, told the media that there is no governance in J&K and the elections could not be free and fair particularly after Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have entered into latent accord to rig the polls at any cost. ... |
