of opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that policies and programmes of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of the every
section of the society.
He recalled that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State had proved how to propagate policies of inclusive growth and development in every region and sub-region. "It is need of the hour to give a decisive mandate to the PDP to accomplish the unfinished pro-people agenda of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed", he said.
Kick starting election campaign for PDP in twin border districts of Poonch Rajouri from Bafliaz area of Surankote assembly constituency, Mr Veeri reminded the people about various historical steps initiated during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He pointed out that during PDP led regime a comprehensive blue-print was prepared for socio-economic growth of the residents of Poonch and Rajouri districts. "Unfortunately the revolutionary projects started during PDP led regime for the growth and development of this belt were stalled by the present regime without any reason", he regretted and charged Omar Abdullah led coalition with implementing unequal developmental policies in the State which ultimately resulted into lopsided growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Give us decisive mandate to properly implement comprehensive development agenda of PDP ", Veeri appealed to the people and said that every vote is required to fulfil dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
to establish a new system of justice and equality in J&K.
Mr Veeri, while addressing series of public meetings at Bafliaz and Potha area of Surankote assembly segment in support of party candidate Iqbal Kazmi, regretted that Poonch district is victim of the wrong
developmental policies of the successive National Conference regimes in the State.
Reminding the people that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that new routes were opened to connect this mountainous locked belt with rest of the world, Mr Veeri said that the regions like
Poonch and Rajouri had become a geographical, social and economic dead end as a result of the partition. "PDP led regime had open new routes for this belt", he said.
Mr Veeri especially mentioned towards opening of Mugal road and said that it was all due to the efforts of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that work on this historical road was started. "Credit goes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that Mugal road was opened for vehicular movement because during PDP led regime special funds were arranged to complete work on
this road", he said and predicted that opening of Mugal road was going to change fate of the people of this belt.
He observed that Mugal road would be emerged as road of prosperity in this hilly belt because twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri is going to become the gateway of Kashmir after this track would be
opened for full-fledged traffic in the days to come. "This road is going to improve economic conditions of the people Poonch and Rajouri", he said.
