| Yawar want Kashmir youth to have pens in hands, not stones | | calls for maximum participation of youth in elections | 
Srinagar, November 24, (Scoop News)- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and party candidate for Rafiabad constituency Yawar Mir on Mondaycalled for maximum participation of youth in forthcoming assembly elections.
Yawar was addressing a massive road show organized by the PDP which started from Laiser covering more than 10 villages including Dangiwacha, Zeithen and Chatoosa. The road show was not only joined by the party workers but people from all walks of life joined in and gave a warm welcome to Mir particularly at Dangiwacha.
While addressing his party workers and supporters, Mir said the future of Jammu and Kashmir lies in its youth who should channelize their energies for the peace, progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. “Similarly, for Rafiabad PDP will provide a working tool to stimulate, encourage and blend the youth and adults with their respective experiences to plan and conduct the upliftment of the whole area on modern lines. I pledge to work tirelessly to make Rafiabad a model constituency in the entire state,” Mir asserted.
Stating that youth are the worst sufferers of Kashmir conflict, Mir said there is a dire need to address apprehensions and dilemma faced by the youth of the state. “For the last six years the youth of the state have met the same treatment. This situation pushed the youth to wall and they were forced to react. God willing PDP will show a new way to pace, progress and prosperity in which the youth of the state will be major beneficiaries. I want the youth of the state to have pens in their hands and not the stones,” Mir remarked.
He said the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are among the best and they deserve the best. “Due to rampant corruption in the state the future of our youth has been put at stake,” Mir said while stressing upon the youth to strive for the change. Mir said that PDP is destined to emerge as the single largest party as the people across the state have already given their verdict in explicit terms during last Parliamentary elections in which NC had to face a drubbing.
Mir said he is confident on the basis of PDP’s performance and credibility earned within a short span of three years rule that it will form the government on its own. He said PDP is committed for transparency, accountability and good-governance in the state and people will definitely witness a new era of peace and prosperity.
Emphasizing on a need to defeat the divisive forces in the state, Mir said the nefarious designs of communal and divisive forces who by hook or crook want to fetch few votes in some pockets of Kashmir are fraught with dangerous consequences for the entire state. “Let me caution you that attempts to fiddle with the pluralistic ethos and the composite culture of the State has the potential of deepening the trust-deficit and alienation among people,” said Mir who was welcomed by old and the young alike. He observed that Jammu and Kashmir has already suffered immensely due to political uncertainties and only PDP under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed can pull it out from the socio-economic and political quagmire.
Attributing the mounting unemployment problem, governance deficit and poor accountability to the political ineptitude of the National Conference led government, Mir said PDP will not only have to start from where it had left the state in 2005 but will have to address multi dimensional problems created by the devastating floods across the state in September this year.
“I assure you that people of the state will see a remarkable change once PDP comes to power. The only assurance I need from you is that you will vote for PDP if you really want things to change in right direction and in your favour,” the PDP candidate for Rafiabad told his supporters and party workers at the culmination of the road show.
