S.O.S. would not allow GoI to befool displaced community anymore:Chuni

Nowshera (Rajouri),November 24,(Scoop News)-Exhorting upon the displaced people to put a united face in the Assembly elections, the S. O. S. International Chairman Rajiv Chuni has appealed the PoK refugees to teach a lesson to Bhartiya Janta Party for its double speak on permanent settlement of the community. Addressing today core committee members of Nowshera Assembly Constituency of S. O. S. International assembled at Thakur Dwara, Nowshera in Rajouri district, Mr. Chuni asked the members to spread our this message to the displaced community to not to commit for their vote to any individual or party especially BJP unless and until S. O. S. International passes any direction in this regard.
“If the elections are opportunity for political parties then it is equally an opportune time for us people to put pressure on the parties, which are at the helm of affairs because after the elections are over, these political activists will disappear again till the next poll,” he explained.
The rally was organized by S. O. S. International to aware the displaced community over the latest developments with regard to relief package to the PoK refugees and the sabotage committed by BJP-led Central Government that returned Rs 9096 crores relief package to the State Government with a rider.
While elaborating on the hectic efforts made by S. O. S. International for getting the relief package passed in the J&K Cabinet and then forwarded to the Government of India for funding, Mr. Chuni lamented that the Modi Government in a delaying tactics, clubbed the State subject class of Displaced persons from PoK with non-State subject West Pakistan refugees.
“We were extremely hopeful that the BJP led NDA Government would consider this relief package for PoK Displaced Persons at its earliest because of the reason that Prime Minister Narinder Modi while kicking start his election campaign for recently held Parliamentary elections in Hiranagar had promised to do all justice to the hapless PoK refugees but even after passing 6 months in office, nothing was done except putting a rider to the relief package sent by the J&K State,” Mr. Chuni rued.
Reiterating that the S. O. S. International has had been supporting the just cause of non-state subject West Pakistani Refugees languishing in J&K Sate, Mr. Chuni however stressed that the relief package of PoK DPs should not be made hostage to the issue of citizenship right of other communities. “Why such riders were not put before granting different relief measures in favour of Valley Migrants during the last 6 months of Modi Government, which includes budgetary provisions in central budget, enhancement of monthly cash assistance from Rs. 6800/per month to Rs. 10,000/per month, Rs. 20 lakh to each family for return to Kashmir Valley, a Government job to at least one person from a family for return to Kashmir Valley, extension of reservation for another two years for the wards of Valley Migrants in professional & technical colleges besides in IITs & IIMs throughout the Country, waivement of all pending installments of DDA flats owned by the Valley Migrants and so many other relief measures.
Mr. Chuni also put a question mark on Modi’s assurance to the refugees in Kishtwar rally and said that if the Prime Minister had an intention to give some relief to the displaced community, he would have directed the PMO to sanction the package instead of providing only lip service. Mr. Chuni assured the gathering that S. O. S. International would not allow Central Government to befool the displaced community anymore and a massive campaign in this regard has been launched to aware the people for teaching a lesson to BJP in Assembly elections.
Others who addressed the gathering include Roshan Lal, Lalit Kumar, Master Bodh Raj, Harjeet Singh, & Bishan Bakshi.
