Vaid for coordinated efforts to improve crime investigation method

Jammu, November 26, (Scoop News)-Stressing on coordinated effort among the investigating agencies, Additional Director General of Police Headquarters, (ADGP), S. P. Vaid today said that Crime Wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization need improvement by adopting latest techniques of investigation for speedy disposal of crime cases.
Inaugurating the day long workshop organized by Technical Services Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this morning, Vaid highlighted the importance of investigating agencies in dealing with the crimes. He said that investigating agencies need further improvement in their working by adopting latest techniques. He said cybercrimes have posed a great challenge to the investigators and stressed on enhancing the skills to investigate such crimes. He emphasised upon the participants to avail the facilities of modern technology.
During the day long workshop, two technical sessions were held and several experts delivered lectures on various subjects of cyber crimes viz cyber check suite, digital evidence acquisition and analysis software, disk imaging hardware, nesa-network session analyser, portable cyber forensic unit, seize acquire and analysis, connectivity and mobility, window based live forensics tool kit, mobile check version and supports forensic acquisition etc.
In the second session of the workshop, experts threw light on the various important issues with regard to crime control and use of latest methods of investigation. Question-answer session was held and the experts replied to various points raised by the participants. The experts threw detailed light on the latest methods to deal the cyber crimes and investigation. During the two sessions of the workshop, the participants showed keen interest in experiencing latest techniques of investigation.
Addressing the concluding session, the Inspector General of Police (Technical Services), H. K. Lohia said the aim of organising the workshop was to upgrade the officers and officials related to the crime wings of the department and acquaint them with latest methods of investigation.
Lohia, thanked Balan.C, Scientist and Cyril Joseph Fernandez, Senior Project Engineer of Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) for providing technical assistance in organizing the workshop. He said that more such workshops would be organized at range level to impart the training to the concerned officers and officials of the department.
Among others, the workshop was also attended by DIG Crime, Johny William, SSP Crime, Mubashir Latifi, SSP Vigilance, Mohammad Yasin Kichloo, AIG (CIV), Shalindra Mishra, Dy:SP (IMS), Musadiq Basu, DY:SP (Ops), Jammu, Bikram Bhagat and other officers and officials of Crime, Vigilance and FSL.
