| Jammu (E) needs a strong legislator: Malhotra | | Appeals people to vote for one who can work and strive for people | 
Jammu, December 18, (Scoop News)-Maintaining that the Assembly constituency of Jammu east requires a strong representative in the legislature, who can strive to accommodate aspirations and wishes of all sections of the society, Congress candidate from this segment, Mr Vikram Malhotra today exhorted upon the people vote for him in order to ensure that Jammu east becomes a model constituency.
He expressed optimism that the developmental needs of the constituency would be fulfilled in a specified time frame with his getting elected to the lower House of the legislative assembly.
On the last day of campaigning for the ongoing assembly elections 2014, Malhotra toured several areas of Jammu east including Prem Nagar and Purani Mandi. On the occasion supporters were seen garlanding their leader and shouting slogans in his favour.
While addressing the huge gatherings, Malhotra assured the masses of Jammu east that he will fight for the solutions to their all the problems, if voted to power. He said that he has already done a lot of development work in the constituency. Vikram said that Jammu requires a caring servant and not the lecturing screen stars.
He said that he has enough strength to believe in people of Jammu east and therefore he had no reason to show the screen stars to the people as being done by the opponents to conceal their weak performances and demerits.
These show-balloons being raised high with great fanfare are bound to be punctured by wisdom and self respect of Jammu east. Now Jammu east requires freedom from rude and emotionless representation which is motivated by hatred, division and deception, Malhotra said.
“The candidates of any other party do not have proven credentials and track record, as they have been getting votes in the past merely by exploiting the people of the constituency on the basis of religion, region and hollow slogans”, he added.
In Purani Mandi, well-known singer Sonali Dogra also enthralled the audience with her sweet voice and sang songs seeking votes for Malhotra. Among other senior congress leaders present on the occasion included Salman Soz, Manmohan Singh, Rashid Choudhary and others.
