CSF hosts an awareness programme on Drug Abuse | | Baramulla, January 29, (Scoop News)-Civil Society Forum(CSF) Delina Baramulla hosts an awareness programme on Drug Abuse. An awareness programme was hosted by civil society forum Delina Baramulla on alarming rise in Drug Abuse around their vicinity at Govt. Higher Secondary School today.
A team of experts from Civil Defence organization along with SDRF team under the supervision of chief warden Dr.Anayat Mir spoke on this occasion. The experts said that youth are most vulnerable to drug abuse, Over 70% of addicts are between the ages 15 – 35 and over 70% of opiods are abused among the addict population. Much of therapeutic nihilism associated with Drug Abuse is related to the delays in help seeking and help providing.A DRUG ACTS ON THE BRAIN AND AFFECT THINKING, FEELING and modifies behaviors.
Substance abuse among youth makes them vulnerable to unlawful activities and Socio-political disturbances. They were also informed about the treatment facilities provided by J & K police , Civil Defence and Indian Army at Drug De-Addiction centres. SDRF instructor gave demonstration on fire fighting, rescuing methods by ropes and CPR during emergencies. A large number of local people, president awakaf committee, ,teachers, SHO PS Delina ,CD wardens and SDRF personal participated in the programme. principal of the institute presided over as the chief guest At the end an interactive session was held where people asked many questions and cleared their doubts.
