| Tsewang Rigzin inaugurates the fortnight World Leprosy Day at Nubra | |
Leh,January 30, (Scoop News)-Councillor Diskit Tsewang Rigzin today inaugurated the fortnight World Leprosy Day at Sub-District Hospital Nubra. Dr Norboo Angchuk BMO Nubra educated about leprosy and Dr Stanzin Dolker spoke on the various causes of leprosy.
Appreciating the work of government run hospitals all over Leh, Councillor Tsewang Rigzin said that non-existence of private hospitals is the evidence of the successful running of the government hospitals and further appreciating the work of entire medical and para-medical staff of the district he promised to give a sum of Rs.1 (one) lakh from his CCDF fund.
BMO thanking for the financial help expressed to have a submersible pump from this fund at the centre.
The medical and para-medical staff, ANMs and pharmacists are going to spread the awareness during the two-week long programme.
The day was also observed at PHC Khaltsi during which Dr.Tsering Morup, Dr. Javed Ahmed and JHI Rigzin Chogdup conducted training of health workers who will start door to door campaign from tomorrow to detect new cases if any.
