| AOC Jammu briefs Governor | |  Jammu, March 03, (Scoop News)- Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal, Air Officer Commanding, Jammu, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan, today and briefed the Governor about various important matters relating to the important role which IAF is playing in the State.
The Governor lauded IAF’s prompt and valuable support on all occasions and particularly recalled the assistance provided for the conduct of the recent State Assembly Elections and, earlier, for the rescue, relief and evacuation operations carried out by IAF during the September-2014 floods in the State.
At the Governor’s request Air Commodore Lal undertook to advise and assist the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in reviewing the Disaster Management Plan drawn up by Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board and to also assess the capacity of the new Panchhi Helipad established by the Board for being utilized for MI-17 operations for disaster evacuations.
